Who are you when you have nothing left to prove and what happens when you achieve the things you thought would finally make you feel confident only to realize that true confidence has very little to do with achievement?

In Darryll's words...OHHHHHHH SNAP!

That’s the powerful conversation I had with Darryll Stinson, founder of Seeding Greatness, husband and father, TedX speaker, and purpose driven leader, committed to using his story to encourage others.

Darryll’s story is a reminder that confidence is not something we simply find…it’s something we build, lose, redefine, and discover over and over again in our lives.

Growing up, Darryll experienced rejection, bullying, and the pressure to change parts of himself in order to fit in and be accepted. He eventually found identity and belonging through sports, becoming a highly recruited athlete and earning the opportunity to play Division I football at Central Michigan University. From the outside, it looked like he had everything he had worked for.

But internally, Darryll was facing battles that achievement couldn’t fix.

After experiencing deep struggles with his mental health and reaching one of the darkest seasons of his life, Darryll found himself at a place where he had to confront a much deeper question: Who am I when the things I’ve always used to define myself are no longer enough?

Faith became the true gift and a foundation for healing and hope, helping him rediscover his identity, his purpose, and the belief that his story still had meaning.

Darryll’s understanding of confidence slowly began to change. What once came from performance, recognition, and proving himself became something much deeper: confidence rooted in identity, purpose, and knowing his worth beyond what he could accomplish.

Darryll and I talk about the evolution of confidence, the impact of rejection, the danger of attaching our value to success, and what it looks like to really embrace and embody your story.

We also talk about how the hardest seasons of life can often become the very places where we discover the greatest parts of ourselves.

Darryll’s honesty and vulnerability are so real and so true as he shares not only the successes, but also the struggles that shaped him and ultimately led him and his wife, Brittany, to create Seeding Greatness, a platform focused on helping others discover their purpose and potential.

True confidence isn’t found in convincing the world that you matter…it’s found in leaning in and learning to believe in yourself.

Everyone has a story, and every story matters; let's make your story count!
