The Soul Goals
The Soul Goals, Episode 35: Nick
As a competitive and high achieving collegiate volleyball player, Nick is used to wins and losses and the emotions that go along with the game he has always loved playing. His recent graduation from Emmanuel University as his classes valedictorian shows his passion for all he puts his heart in to. But in October of 2023, Nick’s and his families hearts and entire world would be shaken at the roots when his older brother died by suicide.
Nick’s brother, KC, would be plagued with mental health challenges for nearly the entirety of his young life. Even with the amazing family support that KC received from his brother and his parents, he struggled to accept that he deserved that help and support. Nick is adamant about spreading suicide awareness through his brother’s story and letting those who are struggling know that their lives are extremely valuable and that they are worthy of accepting help and living a full life.
As Nick and his parents continue to process and work towards healing within their entire family, KC will continue to be loved and adored by those whose lives he touched. The ripple effect of a life lost is far reaching and Nick is committed to honoring his brother in sharing both his story and the challenges that his brother and his family were presented with.
