“Only when we’re brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.” — Brene’ Brown

For Erin, being a wife and Mom of four keeps her days filled to the brim.  Taking time for herself hasn’t been an easy task for her.  For years, she shelved her trauma and pushed on with her responsibilities to her household…until she just couldn’t.

Erin’s path since her teenage years has been a series of ups and downs surrounding self-harm that took her to depths of serious depression and mental health issues.  Acknowledging her past and the experiences that led her to dangerous mental states, Erin opted in to treatment at The Ranch.  The decision to leave her responsibilities as a mom to her crew for nearly 2 months was a difficult but imperative choice to be made.  It was here that she began unraveling what had tangled her for so many years and where the important healing process she so deserved clicked in to place for her.

Mothers are called to tackle their roles and all that lies in front of them on a daily basis.   Forced to stockpile their emotions and needs and attend to their households is a superpower for many and for a long time, Erin was one of them.  Erin strongly attests to the fact that proper self-care and adherence to working and healing through your mental story is a mother’s role, too.  Without her low points, she couldn’t know the high points and appreciate the work she continues to do for herself and her loved ones.
